Privacy Policy
Effective August 24, 2026 · Last updated August 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Wiser5 LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use NurseExhale — the nurse wellness mobile app, the marketing site at wiser5.com/nurseexhale, and related pages (collectively, the “Service”). By installing or using NurseExhale, you agree to this Policy. See also our Terms of Use.
1. Who We Are
NurseExhale is operated by Wiser5 LLC. For privacy questions, contact hello@wiser5.com.
NurseExhale is a personal wellness product. It is not affiliated with hospitals, employers, staffing agencies, or health systems, and it is not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA for your use of the app.
2. Local-First Design
Core wellness content you create in the app — including check-ins, shift preferences, favorites, completed-session history, and on-device community posts — is stored on your device (local database and app storage). The current release does not offer cloud sync, account login, or employer-connected accounts for that wellness history.
If you delete the app or clear app data, local wellness history is typically removed and cannot be recovered by Wiser5.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information stored on your device
- Profile preferences — optional display name, shift type and window, nursing practice area, and how you found us
- Check-ins — mood, stress, energy, sleep quality, and related self-report values you enter
- Session activity — tools and audio sessions you complete, favorites, streaks, and similar progress signals
- Community posts — text you write in the in-app community feed (stored locally on your phone in this version)
- Notification preference — whether reminders are enabled
3.2 Product analytics (sent to our analytics provider)
To understand how NurseExhale is used and improve the product, the app may send anonymized or pseudonymous product analytics to Amplitude (or a similar analytics provider). Events can include, for example:
- App opens and screen views
- Onboarding steps completed
- Shift type, nursing role category, referral source, and notification/dark-mode settings (as user properties)
- Check-in submissions (including self-report scores such as mood, stress, energy, and sleep quality)
- Session viewed / started / completed (session id, title, type, duration)
- Community post created (role tag and body length — not the post text itself)
We configure Amplitude so that IP address and advertising identifiers are not collected for NurseExhale analytics where the SDK options allow. Analytics still uses a device/app instance identifier typical of mobile analytics SDKs.
What analytics is not: we do not use analytics to share your wellness data with your employer, hospital, or colleagues.
3.3 Notifications
If you enable reminders, scheduling uses on-device preferences. Delivery may use Apple Push Notification service or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (or equivalent platform infrastructure). Those platforms process device tokens and delivery metadata under their own terms.
3.4 Information you share intentionally
If you use the system share sheet to share a message about NurseExhale, that content leaves the app under the rules of the app or service you choose (Messages, email, social apps, etc.).
If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
3.5 Marketing website
The NurseExhale marketing pages on wiser5.com may use standard website logs and analytics (for example cookies or similar technologies used across wiser5.com). That is separate from wellness history stored inside the mobile app. See also any general site notices on wiser5.com.
3.6 Information we do not require
- No hospital, EHR, or employer account linkage
- No requirement to create a NurseExhale account or password for core features
- No payment card collection inside the current free app
- No government ID requirement
4. How We Use Information
- To provide shift-aware wellness tools, check-ins, reminders, and progress features on your device
- To understand product usage and improve content, onboarding, and reliability
- To respond to support requests
- To protect the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law
- To enforce our Terms of Use
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers — such as analytics (for example Amplitude), hosting for the marketing site, and email infrastructure, who process data on our behalf
- Platform providers — Apple and Google for app distribution and, if enabled, push delivery
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service
- Business transfers — if Wiser5 LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
Community posts in the current app version remain on your device and are not uploaded to Wiser5 servers.
6. Data Retention
- On-device data — retained until you delete it (for example by clearing app data or uninstalling)
- Analytics events — retained according to our analytics provider settings and as long as useful for operating and improving NurseExhale, unless a longer period is required for security or legal reasons
- Support email — retained as needed to respond and for ordinary business records
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a local-first mobile MVP, including HTTPS for our websites. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for physical access to your device and for device-level protections (passcode, biometrics, OS updates).
8. Children’s Privacy
NurseExhale is intended for working nurses and other adult healthcare professionals. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact hello@wiser5.com.
9. International Users
Wiser5 is based in the United States. Analytics and website infrastructure may process information in the United States or other countries. If you access the Service from elsewhere, you understand that information may be processed in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws.
10. Your Choices and Rights
- You can disable notifications in NurseExhale settings or your device settings
- You can delete local wellness data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing
To make a privacy request related to analytics or support communications, email hello@wiser5.com. We may need enough information to locate relevant records. Because core wellness history lives on your device, we generally cannot restore or remotely delete that local data for you.
11. Third-Party Services
Third-party services (app stores, analytics, push providers, websites you open from share actions) have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date. Continued use of NurseExhale after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
